Industrial Training is your opportunity to gain degree relevant work experience before you graduate. To make the most of this experience make sure you read through the information carefully and contact the Co-op office if you have further questions.
Each IT placement is a learning experience which complements academic studies. During the Industrial Training placements Scholars are expected to conform to professional standards of performance, dress and business hours, and undertake appropriate duties and responsibilities.
Scholars are required to work with different Sponsors in each Industrial Training placement. Contact with all Sponsors of the UNSW Co-op Program will be possible over the duration of the Program through company visits, guest lectures and social events.
The Scholar is expected to contact the Sponsor at least 6-8 weeks before Industrial Training to discuss the date of commencement and the proposed program for their Industrial Training. Immediately prior to this time, the Scholar should send the Sponsor a resume outlining their previous work/ Industrial Training experience, the subjects they will be studying while on Industrial Training (if applicable) and outlining their personal objectives for the Industrial Training.
If you do not comply with these requirements, you may find your scholarship is suspended without further warning, forms are returned.
At the completion of IT you may be asked to make a presentation to your manager, senior members of the company or UNSW Co-op Program Scholars. For all presentations you are required to use the UNSW logo. This logo should not be altered in anyway. Do not use any other versions of the UNSW logo. Contact the UNSW Co-op Program office if you have any questions.
