The Co-op Program is launching a new Advanced Mathematics program in 2017 to help connect young brilliant minds with the maths careers of tomorrow!
Mathematics is everywhere in industry, and demand is rising. The Advanced Mathematics degree is aimed at high achieving students who wish to specialise in mathematics as a basis for the increasing range of quantitative careers in areas such as finance, environmental modelling and research.
The Co-op Program recruits from high schools Australia wide. We try to get the message out about the program to as many students as possible.
A major promotion activity undertaken by the program is sending our Co-op Scholar Ambassadors out to schools and careers markets to talk to students, their parents, and their teachers about Co-op and how to apply.
Our Scholar Ambassadors share their unique stories and experiences gained through the program and directly relate to the students who are approaching the end of high school and wondering what to do next. They offer a very real insight into what it means to be a Co-op scholar studying at UNSW.

Co-op launches careers!
Offering support and guidance, blending tertiary study with industry experience, the Co-op Program opens up a world of opportunities for students to create their own careers. We select students with leadership potential and a passion for a particular industry to delve head first into their chosen field and hit the ground running.
“The industry placements offer invaluable experience. They expose you to real life jobs and work environments where you learn skills unattainable in the classroom. These placements allow you to explore your career path and understand what you like or dislike working on, giving you a great head start.”
Davina Adisusila, Computer Science scholar, St Ursula's College Kingsgrove
For high school students unsure of what career may suit them or seeking more information about a particular career path, Co-op offers a Create Your Career Evening offering advice from academics, industry and current scholars from our program streams, including Business, Technology, Engineering and Science. Students have the opportunity to talk one on one and ask questions about the field of study/industry providing a chance to evaluate if this is the path for them.
